A performance issue has been identified while backups are running. With an increase in data being backed up, backups are taking longer than expected. Currently alternatives are beening looked at in the backup methodology.

Do you need both?
It's hard to say, as to some it's just one more domain. But it's probably that many people will start registering .nz over the others domains.
Second level nz domains are now open for preregistration.
